The Bahamas, officially the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, is located north of Cuba and south of the United States. The nation consists of 29 islands with an estimated population of 330,000 people. The islands are all low and flat, with ridges that usuall yrise no more than 49 to 66 ft (15 to 20 meters). The weather is relatively warm all year round, with averages between 70 °F and 83 °F. The Bahamas are well known for festivals associated with the traditional food or crop of that area, for example the "Pineapple Fest" in Gergory Town, or the "Crab Fest" on Andros.
